Our Mission

I

Random Acts of Conservation is dedicated to educating the public that they are an integral part of the conservation landscape by celebrating and supporting random acts of conservation both large and small.  By providing a forum to encourage people to act on things that matter to them, we hope to inspire others to take their own small steps to make the world a better, more beautiful place, now and for future generations.

Random Acts of Conservation seeks to:

  • Promote the awareness of conservation among the general public by supporting and celebrating random acts of conservation

  • Increase community involvement in conservation through participation in and support of volunteer work that preserves, protects and enhances public and other protected lands, cultural resources and historical resources

  • Support organizations that protect our natural, cultural and historical resources from abuse, neglect, waste or exploitation and preserve their availability for future generations, enhancing the quality of life for all.

  • Advance knowledge by encouraging education, study, and research of all subjects related to conservation in all its forms, disseminate conservation information and promote the practice of conservation.

  • Support other “Random Acts” organizations such as Random Acts of Kindness and Random Acts of Flowers to foster the growing Random Acts movement that encourages individual participation.

By celebrating random acts of conservation, we hope to inspire everyone to a role for themselves in making a difference in small but increasingly significant ways. Projects ranging from butterfl gardens, participation in animal counts and tracking and trail improvement, to more complex efforts like wetlands restoration, conservation easements, and creating a photographic record of cultural and historical resources will all be encouraged and supported.
